5e39897ee2 x86, libgcc: Implement ia32 basic heap trampoline [PR113855].
The initial heap trampoline implementation was targeting 64b
platforms. As the PR demonstrates this creates an issue where it
is expected that the same symbols are exported for 32 and 64b.

Rather than conditionalize the exports and code-gen on x86_64,
this patch provides a basic implementation of the IA32 trampoline.

This also avoids potential user confusion, when a 32b target has
64b multilibs, and vice versa; which is the case for Darwin.

	PR target/113855

506e74f53a libgcc: Make heap trampoline support dynamic [PR113403].
In order to handle system security constraints during GCC build
and test and that most platform versions cannot link to libgcc_eh
since the unwinder there is incompatible with the system one.

1. We make the support functions weak definitions.
2. We include them as a CRT for platform conditions that do not
   allow libgcc_eh.
3. We ensure that the weak symbols are exported from DSOs (which
includes exes on Darwin) so that the dynamic linker will
pick one instance (which avoids duplication of trampoline
   caches).

9fa35dbb90 strub: sparc: omit frame in strub_leave [PR112917]
If we allow __strub_leave to allocate a frame on sparc, it will
overlap with a lot of the stack range we're supposed to scrub, because
of the large fixed-size outgoing args and register save area.
Unfortunately, setting up the PIC register seems to prevent the frame
pointer from being omitted.

Since the strub runtime doesn't issue calls or use global variables,
at least on sparc, disabling PIC to compile strub.c seems to do the
right thing.

439779bace arm: libgcc: provide implementations of __sync_synchronize
Prior to Armv6 there was no architected method to synchronize data
across processors. Armv6 saw the first introduction of
multi-processor support, using a CP15 operation; but this was
deprecated in Armv7 and is not supported on m-profile devices of any
form. Armv7 (and armv6-m) and later support data synchronization via
the DMB instruction.

This all leads to difficulties when linking programs as the user
generally needs to know which synchronization method is needed, but
there seems no easy way around this, when there are no OS-related
primitives available.

I've addressed this by adding multiple variants of __sync_synchronize
to libgcc, one for each of the above use cases. I've named these
__sync_synchronize_none, __sync_synchronize_cp15dmb and
__sync_synchronize_dmb. I've also added three specs files that can be
used to direct the linker to pick the appropriate implementation.
Using specs fragments for this is preferable to directing the user to
directly use --defsym as the latter has to be placed at the correct
position on the command line to be effective and the spec rule ensures
this automatically.

I've also added a default implementation of __sync_synchronize. The
default implementation will use DMB if that is available in the target
ISA, or fall back to a nul-implementation if it isn't. In the latter
case it will cause the linker (GNU LD) to emit a warning that
specifies how to pick a specific implementation. I've chosen not to
permit this default to use the CP15 solution as that has been
deprecated.

libgcc:

	* config.host (arm*-*-eabi* | arm*-*-rtems*):
Add arm/t-sync to the makefile rules.

6a6d3817af Config,Darwin: Allow for configuring Darwin to use embedded runpath.
Recent Darwin versions place contraints on the use of run paths
specified in environment variables. This breaks some assumptions
in the GCC build.

This change allows the user to configure a Darwin build to use
'@rpath/libraryname.dylib' in library names and then to add an
embedded runpath to executables (and libraries with dependents).

The embedded runpath is added by default unless the user adds
'-nodefaultrpaths' to the link line.

For an installed compiler, it means that any executable built with
that compiler will reference the runtimes installed with the
compiler (equivalent to hard-coding the library path into the name
of the library).

During build-time configurations any "-B" entries will be added to
the runpath thus the newly-built libraries will be found by exes.

Since the install name is set in libtool, that decision needs to be
available here (but might also cause dependent ones in Makefiles,
so we need to export a conditional).

This facility is not available for Darwin 8 or earlier, however the
existing environment variable runpath does work there.

We default this on for systems where the external DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH
does not work and off for Darwin 8 or earlier. For systems that can
use either method, if the value is unset, we use the default (which
is currently DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH).

cf467fb93b Fix support for atomic loads and stores on hppa.
This change updates the atomic libcall support to fix the following
issues:

1) A internal compiler error with -fno-sync-libcalls.
2) When sync libcalls are disabled, we don't generate libcalls for
   libatomic.
3) There is no sync libcall support for targets other than linux.
As a result, non-atomic stores are silently emitted for types
smaller or equal to the word size. There are now a few atomic
libcalls in the libgcc code, so we need sync support on all
   targets.

9149a5b7e0 Reimplement GNU threads library on native Windows
This reimplements the GNU threads library on native Windows (except for the
Objective-C specific subset) using direct Win32 API calls, in lieu of the
implementation based on semaphores. This base implementations requires
Windows XP/Server 2003, which was the default minimal setting of MinGW-W64
until end of 2020. This also adds the support required for the C++11 threads,
using again direct Win32 API calls; this additional layer requires Windows
Vista/Server 2008 and is enabled only if _WIN32_WINNT >= 0x0600.

This also changes libstdc++ to pass -D_WIN32_WINNT=0x0600 but only when the
switch --enable-libstdcxx-threads is passed, which means that C++11 threads
are still disabled by default *unless* MinGW-W64 itself is configured for
Windows Vista/Server 2008 or later by default (this has been the case in
the development version since end of 2020, for earlier versions you can
configure it --with-default-win32-winnt=0x0600 to get the same effect).

I only manually tested it on i686-w64-mingw32 and x86_64-w64-mingw32 but
AdaCore has used it in their C/C++/Ada compilers for 3 years now and the
30_threads chapter of the libstdc++ testsuite was clean at the time.

0ecd0f1cc6 Generic configury support for shared libs on VxWorks
This change adds the configury bits to activate the build of
shared libs on VxWorks ports configured with --enable-shared,
for libraries variants where this is generally supported (rtp,
code model !large - currently not compatible with -fPIC).

Set lt_cv_deplibs_check_method in libtool.m4, so the build of
libraries know how to establish dependencies. This is useful in
configurations such as aarch64 where proper support of LSE relies
on accurate dependency information between libstdc++ and libgcc_s
to begin with.

Regenerate configure scripts to reflect libtool.m4 change.

574c09da48 libgcc, Darwin: Add missing build dependencies.
There was a race condition where the link for the new shared EH library
(only used on earlier Darwin) could fail because the new crts had not been
copied to the gcc directory. This can cause a build failure (although
currently only seen on powerpc-darwin).

Fixed by adding specific dependency on the crts and on the multi target.
We also add the declaration header for the Darwin10 unwinder shim to the

04577ac084 Remove ppc*-vxworks7* inadequate libgcc Makefile fragments
t-linux assigns .so version numbers to a set of
symbols, some of which aren't included the VxWorks libgcc

t-slibgcc-libgcc yields a kind of .so file that the default

f3f923e513 Leverage sysroot for VxWorks
The build of a VxWorks toolchain relies a lot on system headers
and VxWorks has a few very specific features that require special
processing. For example, different sets of headers for the kernel
vs the rtp modes, which the compiler knows about by way of -mrtp
on the command line.

If we manage to avoid the need for fixincludes on recent versions
of VxWorks (>= 7), we still need to handle at least VxWorks 6.9 at
this stage.

We sort of get away with locating the correct headers at
run-time thanks to environment variables and various tests for
-mrtp in cpp specs, but getting fixincludes to work for old
configurations has always been tricky and getting a toolchain
to build with c++/libstdc++ support gets trickier with every
move to a more recent release.

sysroot_headers_suffix_spec is a pretty powerful device to help
address such issues, and this patch introduces changes that let
us get advantage of it.

The general idea is to leverage the assumption that compilations
occur with --sysroot=$VSB_DIR on vx7 or --sysroot=$WIND_BASE/target
prior to that.

For the toolchains we build, this is achieved with a few
configure options like:

  --with-sysroot
  --with-build-sysroot=${WIND_BASE}/target
  --with-specs=%{!sysroot=*:--sysroot=%:getenv(WIND_BASE /target)}

This also allows simplifying the libgcc compilation flags control
and we take the opportunity to merge t-vxworks7 into t-vxworks as
the two files were differing only on the libgcc2 flags part.

7add7f7bb3 libgcc, Darwin: Build a libgcc_s.1 for backwards compatibility.
In order to reslve a long-standing issue with inter-operation
with libSystem, we have bumped the SO name for libgcc_s.

Distributions might wish to install this new version into a
structure where exisiting code is already linked with the
compiler-local libgcc_s.1 (providing symbols exported by the
now-retired libgcc_ext.10.x shims).

The replacement libgcc_s.1 forwards the symbols from the new SO.
In order to support DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH on systems (where it works)
we forward the libSystem unwinder symbols from 10.7+ and a
compiler-local version of the libgcc unwinder on earlier.

For macOS 10.4 to 10.6 this is 'bug-compatible' with existing uses.
For 10.7+ the behaviour will now actually be correct.

This should be squashed with the initial libgcc changes for PR80556
in any backport (r12-5418-gd4943ce939d)

hence the work-around for that.

* We weaken the symbols for emulated TLS support so that it is possible
for a DSO linked with static-libgcc to interoperate with a DSO linked with
libgcc_s. Likewise main exes.

* We remove all the gcc-4.2.1 era stubs machinery and workarounds.

* libgcc is always now linked ahead of libc, which avoids fails where the
libc (libSystem) builtins implementations are not up to date.

* The unwinder now always comes from the system
 - for Darwin9 from /usr/lib/libgcc_s.1.dylib
 - for Darwin10 from /usr/lib/libSystem.dylib
 - for Darwin11+ from /usr/lib/system/libunwind.dylib.

We still insert a shim on Darwin10 to fix an omitted unwind function, but
the underlying unwinder remains the system one.

* The work-around for PR88590 has two parts (1) we always link libgcc from
its convenience lib on affected system versions (avoiding the need to find
the DSO path); (2) we add and export the emutls functions from DSOs - this
makes a relatively small (20k) addition to a DSO. These can be backed out
when a proper fix for PR88590 is committed.

For distributions that wish to install a libgcc_s.1.dylib to satisfy linkage
from exes that linked against the stubs can use a reexported libgcc_s.1.1
(since that contains all the symbols that were previously exported via the
 stubs).

db89d474ad Support TI mode and soft float on PA64
This change implements TI mode on PA64. Various new patterns are
added to pa.md. The libgcc build needed modification to build both
DI and TI routines. We also need various softfp routines to
convert to and from TImode.

I added full softfp for the -msoft-float option. At the moment,
this doesn't completely eliminate all use of the floating-point
co-processor. For this, libgcc needs to be built with -msoft-mult.
The floating-point exception support also needs a soft option.

ec4d374ece Sync the aarch64-vx7r2 libgcc config with that of Linux
This adds ${cpu_type}/t-lse and t-slibgcc-libgcc to the tmake_file
list for aarch64-vxworks7* configurations, as the Linux port does.

t-lse is needed by all triplets now anyway and the standard setting
for slibgcc makes sense as we are working on reintroducing PIC support
for RTPs on various targets. The VxWorks7 system environments are leaning
towards more and more similarilties with Linux in general, so the
closer configurations the better.

9a835ba4c0 Introduce support for vxworks7r2 on x86 and x86_64
This change extends the VxWorks support on intel CPUs to
VxWorks7r2 for x86_64 as well as x86, with a "mcmodel=large"
additional multilib for the 64bit configuration.

The support for fPIC is not functional yet for this model,
so we just don't add the corresponding multilib.

We extend the range of CPU families handled by TARGET_OS_CPP_BUILTINS,
accounting for the fact that archs older than PENTIUM4 are
not supported (any more) by VxWorks 7.

As we did for powerpc, we leverage VX_CPU_PREFIX to emit different
forms of definitions for different families of VxWorks as the system
headers's expectations has evolved between Vx 5, 6 and 7.

1786798090 Introduce vxworks7r2 support for ppc and ppc64
This change introduces support for the most recent versions
of VxWorks on PowerPC targets, for both 32 and 64 bit thanks
to a bi-arch setup.

The system compilers are essentially configured as Linux
toolchains with only a few specificities and we replicate
that model here.

The most visible specificities are the use of secureplt by
default, the pre-definition of some macros that the system
headers still rely on (_VX_CPU and _VX_CPU_FAMILY, for example),
and of course some variations related to the so VxWorks typical
kernel vs RTP mode distinction.

In addition to the introduction of config.gcc and libgcc
configuration chunks, much inspired by the linux ones, the
change

- Reworks rs6000/vxworks.h file to feature bits common to the
Vx6 and Vx7 port then a separate section for each, where the
Vx7 part is very short as we rely on the Linux definitions
  for most things.

- Adjusts the CPU macro predefinitions in CPP_SPEC to resort
to "_VX_CPU" instead of "CPU" for Vx7, to better match the
  more recent system headers expectations,

- Adds a cpu definition case for e6500.

- Changes to the use SUB3TARGET_OVERRIDE_OPTIONS instead of
SUBSUBTARGET_OVERRIDE_OPTIONS for specifics, so we don't
override the Linux's version of the latter for vx7.

47ddb895df aix: Add GCC64 configuration and FAT target libraries.
This patch adds the ability to configure GCC on AIX to build as a
64 bit application and to build target libraries "FAT" libraries in both
32 bit and 64 bit mode.

The patch adds makefile fragment hooks to target libraries that allows
them to include target-specific rules. The target specific rules for
AIX place both 32 bit and 64 bit objects and shared objects
in archives at the top-level, not multilib subdirectories. The
multilibs are built in subdirectories, but must be combined during the
last parts of the target library build process. Because of the way
that GCC bootstrap works, the libraries must be combined during the
multiple stages of GCC bootstrap, not solely when installed in the
final destination, so the libraries are correct at the end of
each target library build stage, not solely an install recipe.
