Rename common to gdbsupport
This is the next patch in the ongoing series to move gdbsever to the top level. This patch just renames the "common" directory. The idea is to do this move in two parts: first rename the directory (this patch), then move the directory to the top. This approach makes the patches a bit more tractable. I chose the name "gdbsupport" for the directory. However, as this patch was largely written by sed, we could pick a new name without too much difficulty. Normalize include guards in gdb
While working on my other scripts to deal with gdb headers, I noticed
that some files were missing include guards. I wrote a script to add
the missing ones, but found that using the obvious names for the
guards ran into clashes -- for example, gdb/nat/linux-nat.h used
"LINUX_NAT_H", but this was also the script's choice for
gdb/linux-nat.h.
So, I changed the script to normalize all include guards in gdb. This
patch is the result.

Tested by rebuilding; I also ran it through "Fedora-x86_64-m64" on the
buildbot.

Update copyright year range in all GDB files.
This commit applies all changes made after running the gdb/copyright.py script. Note that one file was flagged by the script, due to an invalid copyright header (gdb/unittests/basic_string_view/element_access/char/empty.cc). As the file was copied from GCC's libstdc++-v3 testsuite, this commit leaves this file untouched for the time being; a patch to fix the header was sent to gcc-patches first. gdb/ChangeLog: Update copyright year range in all GDB files. |

Implement "to_stopped_by_hw_breakpoint" for x86 debug registers.
Report that a thread is stopped by a hardware breakpoint if a non-data watchpoint is set in DR6. Add x86_debug_reg_state to gdbserver
This commit introduces a new function, x86_debug_reg_state, that shared x86 code can use to access the local mirror of a process's debug registers. This function already existed in GDB and was in use by GDB's x86_linux_prepare_to_resume. x86 debug address register clarifications
The loop macro ALL_DEBUG_REGISTERS does not iterate over the status or control registers, so its name is misleading. This commit renames it as ALL_DEBUG_ADDRESS_REGISTERS and updates all uses. This commit also updates its loop conditions to an equivalent but better form, and makes two functions use it that had previously hardwired the loop. A comment on a related field in the x86_debug_reg_state structure is also updated to reflect that the field refers specifically to address registers only. gdb/ChangeLog: * nat/x86-dregs.h (ALL_DEBUG_REGISTERS): Renamed as... (ALL_DEBUG_ADDRESS_REGISTERS): New macro. All uses updated. Loop conditions changed to equivalent form. Rename 32- and 64-bit Intel files from "i386" to "x86"
This commit renames nine files that contain code used by both 32- and 64-bit Intel ports such that their names are prefixed with "x86" rather than "i386". All types, functions and variables within these files are likewise renamed such that their names are prefixed with "x86" rather than "i386". This makes GDB follow the convention used by gdbserver such that 32-bit Intel code lives in files called "i386-*", 64-bit Intel code lives in files called "amd64-*", and code for both 32- and 64-bit Intel lives in files called "x86-*". This commit only renames OS-independent files. The Linux ports of both GDB and gdbserver now follow the i386/amd64/x86 convention fully. Some ports still use the old convention where "i386" in file/function/ type/variable names can mean "32-bit only" or "32- and 64-bit" but I don't want to touch ports I can't fully test except where absolutely necessary. gdb/ChangeLog: * i386-nat.h: Renamed as... * x86-nat.h: New file.
