ae66a8f19e [ARM] Add support for M-profile MVE extension
This patch adds support for the M-profile MVE extension, which includes the
following:

- New M-profile XML feature m-profile-mve
- MVE vector predication status and control register (VPR)
- p0 pseudo register (contained in the VPR)
- q0 ~ q7 pseudo vector registers
- New feature bits
- Documentation update

Pseudo register p0 is the least significant bits of vpr and can be accessed
as $p0 or displayed through $vpr. For more information about the register
layout, please refer to [1].

The q0 ~ q7 registers map back to the d0 ~ d15 registers, two d registers
per q register.

The register dump looks like this:

(gdb) info reg all

dda83cd783 gdb, gdbserver, gdbsupport: fix leading space vs tabs issues
Many spots incorrectly use only spaces for indentation (for example,
there are a lot of spots in ada-lang.c). I've always found it awkward
when I needed to edit one of these spots: do I keep the original wrong
indentation, or do I fix it? What if the lines around it are also
wrong, do I fix them too? I probably don't want to fix them in the same
patch, to avoid adding noise to my patch.

So I propose to fix as much as possible once and for all (hopefully).

One typical counter argument for this is that it makes code archeology
more difficult, because git-blame will show this commit as the last
change for these lines. My counter counter argument is: when
git-blaming, you often need to do "blame the file at the parent commit"
anyway, to go past some other refactor that touched the line you are
interested in, but is not the change you are looking for. So you
already need a somewhat efficient way to do this.

Using some interactive tool, rather than plain git-blame, makes this
trivial. For example, I use "tig blame <file>", where going back past
the commit that changed the currently selected line is one keystroke.
It looks like Magit in Emacs does it too (though I've never used it).
Web viewers of Github and Gitlab do it too. My point is that it won't
really make archeology more difficult.

The other typical counter argument is that it will cause conflicts with
existing patches. That's true... but it's a one time cost, and those
are not conflicts that are difficult to resolve. I have also tried "git
rebase --ignore-whitespace", it seems to work well. Although that will
re-introduce the faulty indentation, so one needs to take care of fixing
the indentation in the patch after that (which is easy).

bbb826f5e9 gdb: Delay releasing target_desc_up in more cases
After commit:

  commit 51a948fdf0
  Date:   Mon Jul 20 14:18:04 2020 +0100

      gdb: Have allocate_target_description return a unique_ptr

There were a few places where we could (should?) have delayed
releasing the target_desc_up until a little later. This commit
catches these cases.

In the case of ARC, the target_desc_up is now exposed right out to
gdbserver, which means making a small change there too.

There should be no user visible changes after this commit.

gdb/ChangeLog:

	* arch/aarch32.c (aarch32_create_target_description): Release the
	target_desc_up as late as possible.
	* arch/aarch64.c (aarch64_create_target_description): Likewise.
	* arch/amd64.c (amd64_create_target_description): Likewise.
	* arch/arc.c (arc_create_target_description): Return a

	* arch/arc.h (arc_create_target_description): Update declaration.
	(arc_lookup_target_description): Move target_desc_up into the
	cache, and return a borrowed pointer.
	* arch/arm.c (arm_create_target_description): Release the
	target_desc_up as late as possible.
	* arch/i386.c (i386_create_target_description): Likewise.

	unique_ptr returned from arc_create_target_description.

51a948fdf0 gdb: Have allocate_target_description return a unique_ptr
Update allocate_target_description to return a target_desc_up, a
specialisation of unique_ptr.

This commit does not attempt to make use of the unique_ptr in the
best possible way, in almost all cases we immediately release the
pointer from within the unique_ptr and then continue as before.

There are a few places where it was easy to handle the unique_ptr, and
in these cases I've done that.

Everything under gdb/features/* is auto-regenerated.

There should be no user visible changes after this commit.

5f661e0397 gnulib: import count-one-bits module and use it
For a fix I intend to submit, I would need a function that counts the
number of set bits in a word. There is __builtin_popcount that is
supported by gcc and clang, but there is also a gnulib module that wraps
that and provides a fallback for other compilers, so I think it would be
good to use it.

I also noticed that there is a bitcount function in arch/arm.c, so I
thought that as a first step I would replace that one with the gnulib
count-one-bits module. This is what this patch does.

The gnulib module provides multiple functions, with various parameter
length (unsigned int, unsigned long int, unsigned long long int), I
chose the one that made sense for each call site based on the argument
type.

f29ec96643 Arm: Use feature target descriptions

Remove the old initialize calls.

d105cce5dd Arm: Add read_description read funcs and use in GDB
Switch the Arm target to get target descriptions via arm_read_description

268a13a5a3 Rename common to gdbsupport
This is the next patch in the ongoing series to move gdbsever to the
top level.

This patch just renames the "common" directory. The idea is to do
this move in two parts: first rename the directory (this patch), then
move the directory to the top. This approach makes the patches a bit
more tractable.

I chose the name "gdbsupport" for the directory. However, as this
patch was largely written by sed, we could pick a new name without too
much difficulty.

Tested by the buildbot.

42a4f53d2b Update copyright year range in all GDB files.
This commit applies all changes made after running the gdb/copyright.py
script.

Note that one file was flagged by the script, due to an invalid
copyright header
(gdb/unittests/basic_string_view/element_access/char/empty.cc).
As the file was copied from GCC's libstdc++-v3 testsuite, this commit
leaves this file untouched for the time being; a patch to fix the header
was sent to gcc-patches first.

d9311bfaf5 Support software single step on ARM in GDBServer
This patch teaches GDBServer how to software single step on ARM
linux by sharing code with GDB.

The arm_get_next_pcs function in GDB is now shared with GDBServer. So
that GDBServer can use the function to return the possible addresses of
the next PC.

A proper shared context was also needed so that we could share the code,
this context is described in the arm_get_next_pcs structure.

No regressions, tested on ubuntu 14.04 ARMv7 and x86.

8689682cc3 Implement breakpoint_kind_from_pc and sw_breakpoint_from_kind for ARM in GDBServer.
ARM can have multiple breakpoint types based on the instruction set
it's currently in: arm, thumb or thumb2.

GDBServer needs to know what breakpoint is to be inserted at location
when inserting a breakpoint.

This is handled by the breakpoint_kind_from_pc and sw_breakpoint_from_kind
target ops introduced in a previous patch, this patch adds the
arm_breakpoint_kind_from_pc and arm_sw_breakpoint_from_kind implementation so
that the proper breakpoint type is returned based on the pc.

Also in order to share some code with GDB a new file called arm.c have been
introduced in arch/.

While this file does not contain much yet future patches will add more
to it thus the inclusion at this stage.

No regressions on Ubuntu 14.04 on ARMv7 and x86.
With gdbserver-{native,extended} / { -marm -mthumb }
